autotax is built for the people who file their own returns — freelancers, sole proprietors, one-person Pty Ltds — and quietly lose a weekend to it twice a year.
Why we built this
The work was already invisible. Now it's automatic.
If you're a SA provisional taxpayer, you already know the rhythm. Twice a year the IRP6 lands. You dig through bank statements, argue with a spreadsheet, second-guess every Steers receipt, and hope your provisional estimate is close enough that SARS doesn't send you a letter.
Existing tools assume one of two extremes: either you understand tax the way an accountant does, or you hand the whole thing over and pay R3,000 to find out you owe R12,000.
autotax is a third option. Your statements go in. SARS-aligned categorisations come out. You confirm anything we're not sure about. We file. The audit trail covers what happened, when, and why — for you, for SARS, and for whoever has to look at it next year.

What we don't do
Boundaries are a feature.
autotax only does a few things, and it does them seriously. The list of things we deliberately won't do — VAT, payroll, multi-employee, trust returns, foreign-income shenanigans, white-label — is in the open. If you need any of those, we'd rather tell you upfront than hold your hand to a half-built product.

Read-only bank access
We have read-only access to your bank data. We cannot move your money.

24-hour deletion
